Description For 1394 - TNS Senior Network Engineer (SOCOM)
Sigma Defense's Transport Network Services (TNS) team is seeking a charismatic Senior Network Engineer to join the mission. This engineer will provide occasional 24/7 on-call support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Transport Enterprise in conjunction with the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Program of Record.
The Senior Network engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing, engineering, and testing network configurations
- Systems-monitoring and routine preventative maintenance
- Site upgrades and integrations at customer locations
- Providing detailed technical documentation
- Configuring, managing, and evaluating multi-protocol network elements
- Generating test plans and instructions
- Collecting and recording test data
- Identifying findings and failed test parameters
- Life cycle management of Government provided Cisco devices
This role requires worldwide travel to install and upgrade customer communications sites, with trips lasting up to 45 days. The engineer will be part of a team supporting a worldwide architecture of customer-focused equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing networking environments
- Planning network layouts and configuring systems
- Performing equipment operational tests
- Configuration and testing of Cisco firewalls, switches, routers, and encryption devices
- Troubleshooting and supporting deployed personnel and equipment
- Conducting site surveys across all deployed locations
- Managing documentation for customer evaluation and approval

Requirements For 1394 - TNS Senior Network Engineer (SOCOM)
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel worldwide (up to 2 months at a time)
- Proficiency in layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing
- Deep understanding of Cisco IOS, Cisco Firewalls, and networking technologies
- Proficiency in EIGRP, OSPF, STP, VTP, ACLs, and Layer 3 tunnels
- Experience with Cisco switches, routers, cryptographic devices, VPN, and VPN client
- Experience supporting IP services for NIPRNET/SIPRNET
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks
- Understanding of BGP
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strict attention to detail
- Strong organization and time management skills
- DoD IAT 8570 certification (CCNA/CCNP Sect+)
- Active DoD issued TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
