1427 - Network Engineer

Sigma Defense is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team at Fort Detrick, Maryland. This role focuses on operating and maintaining the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT) Network Service Center (NSC), a critical infrastructure supporting global tactical military operations. The position requires expertise in tactical communications and networks, with responsibilities spanning planning, implementation, and troubleshooting.

The GAIT network is a colorless MPLS network connecting Army Regional Hub Nodes, DoD Teleports, and other strategic points of presence. This infrastructure is vital for supporting training, contingency, and operational missions worldwide. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of PM Tactical Network architecture and emerging tactical edge technologies.

Key responsibilities include network engineering, maintenance, and rapid problem resolution. The role demands excellent reasoning and troubleshooting skills, particularly in guiding remote problem resolution. A strong understanding of tactical satellite (TACSAT) equipment and its integration with broader network architecture is essential.
