Description For 1461 - Test Automation/DevOps Engineer

Sigma Defense is seeking a Test Automation/DevOps Engineer to support their Navy software factory initiative called FORGE. This role is crucial for modernizing and delivering cutting-edge software development practices and DevSecOps technologies to the Fleet. The position focuses heavily on testing infrastructure as code (IaC), services, API, and applications, with an emphasis on modern containerization practices in both production and development environments.

The ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years of experience and a strong background in testing infrastructure, along with expertise in Linux-based systems. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tests for our Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Key responsibilities include supporting lab installations, developing test cases, building CI/CD pipelines, and working with development teams to resolve issues. You'll be based in College Park, Maryland, with potential travel to other naval bases. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $80,000 to $115,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and educational assistance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level engineer looking to make an impact in defense technology while working with modern DevOps practices and tools.
