Sigma Defense is seeking a Network Engineer Tier II to provide 24/7 support for the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) ISR Transport Enterprise. The role involves collaborating with NOC Engineers and controllers, offering technical assistance and updates. The engineer will be responsible for delivering both technical and operational support to users at forward positions and at the hubs situated at the ISR injection sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting interface between SOCOM user community and transport system OEM components
- Providing situation reports and status updates
- Assisting with system upgrades requiring aircraft and ground transport coordination
- Working closely with government and OEM program managers
- Providing expertise in Full Motion Imagery and black/red terrestrial communications networks
- Supporting network configurations, system-monitoring, and remote terminal commissioning
- Coordinating with SOCOM/J63 for data transport requirements
- Provisioning and commissioning new aircraft terminals
- Conducting higher-level troubleshooting activities
- Establishing and documenting procedures
- Assisting with upgrades and Information Assurance (IA) hardening
The ideal candidate should have:
- 5+ years of experience in evaluating network problems and performing maintenance tasks
- CCNA certification with experience in BGP, OSPF, multicast traffic, and encryption device management
- Ability to conduct in-depth log analysis and root-cause isolation
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Active DoD-issued Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
