Description For Senior Mechanical Engineer

Skeleton Technologies, a Global Cleantech 100 company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Product Development department. As a technology leader in high-power energy storage, we're revolutionizing energy storage solutions for transportation, grid, automotive, and industrial applications. The role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge supercapacitor and SuperBattery technologies based on patented curved graphene, representing the biggest technological advancement in the industry in the last 20 years.

The position involves leading mechanical platform development, contributing to technology roadmaps, and mentoring team members. You'll work with some of the largest companies globally, from automotive OEMs to aerospace contractors, helping reduce CO2 emissions and improve power quality. The role requires expertise in mechanical development, thermal simulations, and product validation, with a strong background in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Design mechanical platform and architecture development
  • Work as a subject matter expert in customer projects
  • Contribute to the company's technology and product roadmap development
  • Work with research projects
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to the mechanical development process and tool development

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Very good mechanical development skills: mechanical and thermal simulations, engineering calculations, 2D/3D Design, Thermal design, insulation coordination, DFM/DFA, cost optimization, EMC design, Product standards
  • Experience in mechanical architecture design
  • Full development cycle experience from automotive or other industries
  • Experience in various CAD, PLM, and PDM systems
  • Experience in various manufacturing processes: aluminum casting, plastic molding, sheet metal, laser welding, etc
  • Industrialization experience with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Experience in product testing and validation: Vibration, IP, Thermal, EMC
  • Electrical engineering understanding and experience in energy storage and power electronics applications
  • BSc or MSc as education
