Skeleton Technologies, a Global Cleantech 100 company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Cell Design to join their Supercapacitor Development team. This role is crucial in developing and improving supercapacitor cells and SuperBattery technology, utilizing patented curved graphene technology. The position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of energy storage innovation, helping reduce CO2 emissions globally.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of design engineering experience, with specific expertise in battery cell design and manufacturing. You'll be responsible for designing and managing supercapacitor cells, creating technical documentation, and working closely with industrial engineers to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. The role requires strong technical skills, including proficiency in SolidWorks and technical drawing, combined with excellent communication abilities.

Skeleton Technologies operates across multiple locations, including Tallinn, Großröhrsdorf, Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Finland, and Berlin, with plans to open the world's largest supercapacitor factory in the Leipzig area. Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Engineer Cell Design

  • Design/improve/manage supercapacitor cells with cell team engineers
  • Create and manage design documentation
  • Create deliverables according to development process
  • Cooperate with industrial engineers on manufacturing
  • Report to mechanical engineering team on design solutions
  • Find design solutions to meet product target requirements
  • Build and test prototypes to validate design solutions
  • Instruct and supervise product manufacturing
  • Communicate with suppliers and procurement team
  • Ensure design meets target cost

Requirements For Senior Mechanical Engineer Cell Design

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a design engineer
  • Prior experience with battery Cell design (preferably Cylindrical cells)
  • Experience with mass production and manufacturability
  • Well experienced with SolidWorks
  • Very good modelling skills
  • Great at creating and reading technical drawings
  • Understanding of cell design and electrical parameters
  • Capability of using hand and power tools
  • High proficiency in technical writing
  • Understanding of quality tools (DFMEA, Significant characteristics)
  • Fluent English language skills, German advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, independence, and time management
