Skydropx is revolutionizing logistics in Latin America through innovative technology and a visionary team. We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our multicultural and dynamic environment. The role focuses on developing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems using modern cloud technologies, particularly GCP and Kubernetes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (4+ years) with Google Cloud Platform services, including GKE, CloudRun, CloudSQL, and more. You'll be responsible for ensuring best practices in our large-scale services, solving complex technical challenges, and mentoring team members. Strong expertise in container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and system optimization is essential.
Working remotely, you'll be part of a team that's transforming logistics across Latin America. The position offers flexible working hours (9:00-18:00 CST Mexico) and requires fluent Spanish to facilitate effective communication across our international team. You'll work with modern technologies including Kubernetes, Node.js, TypeScript, and Ruby, while implementing and maintaining critical infrastructure components.

Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer
- Develop features and improvements in services and products safely and tested according to company guidelines
- Write technical documentation
- Solve high-reach and complex technical problems
- Ensure best practices for large-scale services and products
- Solve performance and optimization problems at scale
- Guide and mentor team members to develop their technical skills
- Add value to the team and effectively communicate ideas to area leader
- Be available to solve critical problems as needed
Requirements For DevOps Engineer
- Fluent Spanish required
- 4+ years of experience working with GCP (GKE, CloudRun, CloudSQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, VPN, Compute Engine, IAM, etc.)
- Intermediate to senior level experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with container environment variables and tools (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Experience working with Kafka and/or Pub/Sub
- Infrastructure as code development and deployment
- Scripting with Bash and Python
- Strong software engineering knowledge and best practices
- Experience with operating systems, Linux file systems, proxies, web servers
- Practical experience in writing and distributing large-scale distributed systems
- Effective technical communication skills
