As a Junior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails), your goal will be to understand and master the different tools, applications, and processes used in the company, as well as contribute to the development and improvement of basic functionalities in the company's software products and services, mainly in the backend.
Your challenges in the team will include:
- Developing functionalities, improvements, and solving technical problems of easy complexity and scope.
- Working together with a mentor to understand development flows.
- Ensuring code style, maintainability, and best practices.
- Understanding the logic of applications and/or services as well as the business model.
- Learning about software development methodology, design patterns, tools, etc. with which you are not familiar.
Requirements:
- Essential: English B2 or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience in software design and development of rack applications with Ruby and JavaScript.
- Knowledge and/or professional experience in software engineering and best practices for the complete software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience in writing and distributing large-scale distributed systems and high-quality client-server architectures.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas and collaborate with technical and non-technical peers.
Desirable (not essential) skills:
- Previous experience working with GCP.
- Experience working with Kafka and/or Pub/Sub.
- Experience creating microservices and consumption APIs.
- Knowledge of common algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
