Skylight is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their mission of transforming government services through technology. This role supports the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in modernizing how critical government records are managed. You'll work with cloud technologies, primarily Azure and AWS, managing infrastructure, security, and system performance. The position offers comprehensive benefits, competitive salary ranges from $90,000 to $230,000 based on experience level, and a remote-friendly environment. Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer
- Configure and manage Azure resources
- Manage user roles and permissions with Active Directory and RBAC
- Monitor system performance and health
- Implement security controls to meet compliance standards
- Perform system administration for Linux and Windows Server environments
- Set up backup and recovery processes
- Optimize resource usage and costs
- Document configurations and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with NARA staff and stakeholders
- Stay informed on Azure updates and best practices
Requirements For DevOps Engineer
- Experience managing Azure environments, including ExpressRoute, Virtual Networks, and hybrid cloud setups
- Expertise in cloud security using Azure Security Center, NSGs, and Azure Firewall
- Strong system administration experience with Linux and Windows Server
- Proficiency with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Experience with AWS operations and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with AWS Fargate, GitHub Actions, and Docker
- Clear communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams
- Ability to obtain and hold a federal public trust (Tier 2)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
