Description For Deputy Chief Engineer

Skyryse is revolutionizing the aviation industry with their groundbreaking SkyOS, a universal operating system for flight that aims to make flying safer and more accessible to everyone. As the Deputy Chief Engineer based in El Segundo, CA, you'll be at the forefront of developing next-generation aircraft control systems, specifically working on fly-by-wire systems for their R66 program.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Chief Engineer and VP of Engineering, focusing on designing, developing, and optimizing fly-by-wire systems that will shape the future of aviation. You'll be responsible for creating and executing technology modernization initiatives, with a particular focus on achieving certification of SkyOS on the flagship R66 program.

This position requires a strong background in aerospace or related engineering fields, with at least 10 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fly-by-wire flight control systems and aviation certification requirements. Requirements For Deputy Chief Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
  • Experience with fly-by-wire flight control systems design
  • 10+ years of professional working experience in a full cycle engineering role
  • Experience with applicable aviation certification requirements
  • Experience with component level qualification for aerospace applications
