Description For Jr. Electronics Engineer

Skyryse is revolutionizing the aviation industry with SkyOS, a universal operating system for flight that simplifies and enhances safety in flying. As a Junior Electronics Engineer at Skyryse, you'll be part of a team developing advanced avionics and electromechanical systems. This role involves hands-on electronic and mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of components and subsystems. You'll contribute to system-level design verification and qualification efforts, working in the systems integration lab in El Segundo, CA.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in PCBA design, troubleshooting, and debugging
  • Implementing design changes and performing failure analysis
  • Fabricating and testing wire harnesses and assemblies
  • Developing and modifying test procedures for system validation
  • Conducting board-level and system-level testing
  • Performing calibration and configuration of electronic equipment
  • Supporting avionics system integration and verification
  • Assisting in qualification testing at local test labs
  • Collaborating with various engineering disciplines
  • Contributing to design reviews

Responsibilities For Jr. Electronics Engineer

  • Assist in the design, troubleshooting, and debugging of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA)
  • Implement design changes to PCBAs and perform detailed failure analysis
  • Fabricate, test, and validate moderately complex wire harnesses and assemblies
  • Develop, modify, and implement test and acceptance procedures
  • Conduct board-level and system-level testing and interpret test data
  • Perform hands-on calibration, configuration control, and testing of electronic equipment
  • Support overall avionics system integration and subsystem verification activities
  • Assist in qualification testing at local Southern California test labs
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure robust system designs
  • Contribute to design reviews, providing technical insight and feedback

Requirements For Jr. Electronics Engineer

  • 2+ years of experience in electronics design, testing, or system integration in aerospace or a related industry or equivalent project work
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD)
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel within the Southern California area as required for testing and system integration
