Description For Lead Developer Advocate - Observability

SmartBear is seeking a Lead Developer Advocate for Observability to join their growing team. This role will focus on developing and supporting strategies to empower and energize communities and users in addressing deployment challenges through technology. The ideal candidate will have deep market knowledge, engaging technical content creation skills, and the ability to articulate key messages clearly to various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create thought leadership content including videos, tech blogs, white papers, and educational materials
  • Deliver technical presentations at events worldwide and through online channels
  • Develop sample applications, prototypes, and integrations
  • Engage with developer communities and advocate for their needs
  • Stay updated on observability and OpenTelemetry trends
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive critical initiatives

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years in a senior developer relations role
  • Expertise in observability technologies, APIs, and cloud-native technology
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience with developer communities and software applications
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and other observability standards
