SmartBear, a leading software quality tools provider, is seeking a Product Support Engineer for BugSnag - their software stability platform trusted by over 5,000 engineering teams worldwide, including major companies like Airbnb, Slack, and Microsoft. Processing over 1 billion crash reports daily from 85,000 applications, BugSnag serves as a critical "command center" for engineering teams.

The role involves providing in-depth technical support to highly technical customers, helping them integrate BugSnag's open source notifier libraries into their applications. You'll work directly with the Product Support manager and collaborate closely with development teams, handling customer interactions through various channels including email, GitHub, screenshare, and live chat.

This position offers unique opportunities to work with a wide range of programming languages and frameworks, from mobile development (Android, iOS) to web technologies (JavaScript, React) and server-side languages (Java, Go). You'll be part of a global support team providing 24x7 support to customers worldwide, with support centers strategically located across different time zones.

Responsibilities For Product Support Engineer, BugSnag

  • Troubleshoot and solve technical support issues with external customers via email, GitHub, screenshare, and live chat
  • Collaborate with support colleagues and internal organizations to identify and propose solutions
  • Identify bug fixes and define tasks for implementation
  • Develop tools and enhance documentation to improve support processes
  • Work out of hours on call weekend work on a rotating basis
  • Help customers integrate BugSnag notifier libraries into their applications
