Description For Senior Product Support Engineer, BugSnag

SmartBear, a leading software development tools provider, is seeking a Senior Product Support Engineer for their BugSnag product - a software stability platform processing over 1 billion crash reports daily for 5,000+ engineering teams including Airbnb, Slack, and Microsoft.

The role combines technical support excellence with software engineering, requiring expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks. You'll be integral in helping customers integrate BugSnag's open source notifier libraries, developing internal tools, and collaborating with Platform and Backend Engineering teams.

As a Senior Product Support Engineer, you'll provide comprehensive technical support through various channels, working directly with customers while having opportunities to contribute to product development. The position offers unique exposure to multiple aspects of software development, from customer-facing support to backend engineering.

Responsibilities For Senior Product Support Engineer, BugSnag

  • Troubleshoot and solve technical support issues with external customers via email, GitHub, screenshare, and live chat
  • Collaborate with support colleagues and internal organizations to identify and propose solutions
  • Identify bug fixes and define tasks for implementation
  • Develop in-house tooling to support the team
  • Enhance documentation to improve support processes
  • Work out of hours on call weekend work on a rotating basis
  • Mentor and guide junior team members
  • Become a subject matter expert in product, systems, and supported languages
