We are seeking a talented BI Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping our data-driven decision-making processes. As a BI Engineer at Snappi, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing our data architecture, pipelines, and systems. Your work will enable data acquisition, storage, processing, and analysis, providing valuable insights that drive our business forward.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirements. You'll design and develop BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Your expertise in ETL processes will be crucial as you extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouses and marts.
You'll perform in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic business decisions. Optimizing BI queries and data models for performance and efficiency will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BI solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent work experience in the field of Data, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. You should be proficient in BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Looker, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with agile software processes and banking industry knowledge are considered assets.

Responsibilities For BI Engineer
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to populate data warehouses or data marts
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions
- Optimize and tune BI queries and data models for performance and efficiency
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across BI solutions
- Develop and maintain documentation for BI solutions, including data dictionaries, technical specifications, and user guides
- Provide training and support to end users on BI tools and solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and analytics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to deliver comprehensive BI solutions
Requirements For BI Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Computer Science or Electronics or equivalent work experience in the field of Data
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (7+ preferred, 3-5 preferred for junior role)
- Knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Shiny
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, negotiation, presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Keen eye on detail
- Ability in decision making, problem analysis and problem solving
- Excellent organizational skills
- Problem solving attitude
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Passionate about agile software processes, data driven development, reliability, and experimentation and experience working in a collaborative Agile product team will be considered as extra assets
- Banking Experience will be considered as an asset
- Fluent in English. Other languages a plus
