Snappi, a pioneering mobile-first bank in Greece, is seeking a Data Engineer to join their innovative team. This role is crucial in designing and managing data architecture, pipelines, and systems that enable data acquisition, storage, processing, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in SQL, Python, and Azure Data Factory.
As a Data Engineer at Snappi, you'll be at the forefront of transforming financial services for GenZ and Millennials. You'll work on end-to-end digital credit solutions, including Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) offerings, payments, and cards. Your responsibilities will range from designing scalable data pipelines to collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders to implement efficient ETL processes.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of data
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Build and optimize data models and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval of data
- Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance data processing capabilities and improve efficiency
- Document data pipelines, processes, and solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability
- Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to deploy and manage data systems in cloud environments
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics
Requirements For Data Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Computer Science or Electronics or equivalent work experience in the field of Data
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (7+ preferred, 3-5 preferred for junior role)
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, Azure Data Factor
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, negotiation, presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Keen eye on detail
- Ability in decision making, problem analysis and problem solving
- Excellent organizational skills
- Problem solving attitude
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Passionate about agile software processes, data driven development, reliability, and experimentation
- Experience working in a collaborative Agile product team will be considered as extra assets
- Fluent Greek and English. Other languages a plus
