Engineering Manager, Platform Team

Sonar is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Platform Team to lead a squad of 5-10 developers and DevOps professionals. This role involves building, automating, and operating software used by millions of Sonar customers worldwide. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the professional growth and development of their team, enabling them to build well-crafted software for Sonar products while promoting a high-performance engineering culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a team of Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
• Holding the team accountable to high engineering standards
• Fostering a culture of feedback, continuous improvement, and collaboration
• Partnering with product managers, designers, and team leads to develop and communicate a clear vision
• Defining clear objectives aligned with team, department, and company goals
• Ensuring proper collaboration with stakeholders
• Participating in recruiting talented Engineers and improving the hiring process
• Leading by example, modeling company values including humility and servant leadership

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of software development experience, with advanced knowledge in the Java ecosystem and a good understanding of the DevOps mindset
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Agile methodologies
