As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the data infrastructure that powers SoundCloud's search systems. Your role will focus on ensuring high-quality, scalable, and real-time data flows that enhance the platform's search capabilities and user experience. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Python, Scala, BigQuery, BigTable, Spark, and Dataflow.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of data engineering experience, with strong foundations in algorithms and data structures. You should be comfortable working with millions of data points and have expertise in SQL, Python, and preferably Scala or Java. Experience with machine learning model deployment and search systems is highly valued.

- Build and optimize high-end data pipelines driving KPIs and ML model training
- Develop real-time processing data pipelines for search features
- Design and optimize data architecture and modeling
- Ensure data quality and consistency for search systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data structure and preparation
- Work with search systems and machine learning models
Requirements For Senior Data Engineer
- 5+ years experience in data engineering
- Strong foundations in algorithms and data structures
- Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data pipelines
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with Scala or Java
- Experience in training, prototyping, and deploying machine learning models
- Ability to work with millions of data points
- Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills
