Description For Support Engineer

Sourcegraph is on a mission to make coding accessible to everyone, not just 0.1% of the population. We're building a code intelligence platform that powers world-class code search and the most popular open-source code AI tool. Our goal is to automate 99% of software engineering toil using code understanding and AI tools, leaving the creative 1% to humans.

We serve customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, including 4/5 FAANG companies, government organizations, Uber, and Plaid. With $225M raised at a $2.625B valuation from investors like a16z, Sequoia, Redpoint, and Craft, we're making ambitious bets on our future.

As a Support Engineer at Sourcegraph, you'll be at the forefront of the customer experience in our Technical Success organization. You'll resolve technical issues, educate customers, and identify product improvements. Within your first month, you'll learn about our product, customers, and practices, including Code Search deployment and Cody functionality. By three months, you'll be troubleshooting customer issues and contributing to documentation. At six months, you'll be identifying trends and suggesting improvements for the team and product.

We're looking for curious and compassionate problem-solvers with experience in Unix/Linux, Bash, Kubernetes, and code hosts like GitHub. You should be able to communicate complex technical ideas to various audiences and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additional skills in databases, APIs, Git, and coding (especially in Go) are beneficial.

This IC2 level position offers competitive compensation, with a target salary of $84,800 USD for Zone 2. We also provide equity and generous perks & benefits. Our interview process is thorough but efficient, designed to help both you and us determine if we're the right fit for each other.

At Sourcegraph, we value diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds. We're committed to creating an environment where you can do your best work, focused on helping Sourcegraph succeed rather than worrying about bills. Join us in our mission to make coding accessible to everyone and be part of building one of the most influential companies in the world.
