Description For Antenna Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking an Antenna Engineer for their revolutionary Starlink project. This role focuses on developing advanced broadband internet systems that currently serve over 4M+ users worldwide. As part of the Starlink team, you'll have full ownership of phased array, Wi-Fi, and RF systems for customer-facing hardware.

The position offers an unique opportunity to work on technology that directly impacts global connectivity, serving diverse users from teachers in the Amazon to researchers in Antarctica. You'll be instrumental in designing and implementing next-generation antenna systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams across electrical, silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines.

This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic influence, as you'll regularly interact with senior leadership to shape the fundamental operation of the constellation and network. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $120,000 to $170,000, complemented by extensive benefits including equity options and comprehensive healthcare.

Responsibilities For Antenna Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

  • Design, fabricate and characterize prototypes of antennas, feed systems and RF front ends
  • Create electromagnetic simulation models of hardware
  • Work with EE, ME, DSP and software engineers to design and validate RF systems
  • Create and test phased array alignment solutions
  • Develop design validation and production test solutions
  • Write automation software in python for testing and documentation

Requirements For Antenna Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience with antennas or communication systems
  • 1+ years professional experience with radio test equipment
  • 1+ years of professional programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
