Description For Automation & Controls Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX, the pioneering space technology company founded with the vision of making humanity a multi-planetary species, is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for their revolutionary Starlink project. This role sits at the intersection of advanced manufacturing and space technology, working on the world's largest satellite constellation that currently serves over 4 million users globally.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with elite engineers in creating the factory of the future for high-volume satellite production. As part of the Starlink Tooling and Automation team, you'll be instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge manufacturing processes that directly impact global internet connectivity and space exploration.

The role combines multiple engineering disciplines, including robotics, PLC programming, vision systems, and industrial automation. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated control systems, working with state-of-the-art technology like Beckhoff TwinCAT, ABB Robotics, and advanced vision systems. The position requires both technical expertise and creative problem-solving abilities to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure safety compliance.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a tangible impact on space technology. The compensation package is competitive, starting from $100,000 to $135,000, complemented by comprehensive benefits including equity options, healthcare, and various perks. Located in Seattle, SpaceX offers a collaborative environment where you'll work alongside some of the industry's brightest minds.

The role requires at least one year of hands-on experience in automation and controls systems, though the company values potential and learning ability as much as experience. SpaceX's commitment to innovation and its ambitious goals make this an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about combining manufacturing excellence with space exploration. The position offers significant growth potential and the chance to be part of humanity's journey to the stars.
