Description For Automation & Controls Engineer (Starlink Production)

SpaceX, founded with the vision of exploring the stars, is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for their Starlink Production team. As a member of this team, you'll lead creative, multi-disciplinary projects spanning machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring. These projects are crucial for the innovative, high-rate factories that enable SpaceX to deliver internet to those who need it most.

Your responsibilities will include designing and managing automation projects, architecting PLC code, implementing safety-compliant systems, designing HMI screens, and creating electrical systems that adhere to industry regulations. You'll also be tasked with organizing schedules and budgets, motivating the team to achieve goals.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science, with at least 1 year of experience in industrial automation or related projects. Preferred skills include proficiency in electromechanical systems, electrical design, troubleshooting, PLC programming (preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT), HMI/SCADA systems, robotics programming, and knowledge of various industry standards and protocols.
