Description For Avionics Hardware Engineer

SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with the ambitious goal of enabling human life on Mars. As an Avionics Hardware Engineer on the Starshield team, you'll be at the forefront of developing specialized satellite technology for national security efforts. This role combines SpaceX's innovative Starlink technology with government-focused applications, particularly in earth observation and communications.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology, where you'll have complete ownership of your hardware's lifecycle - from initial design through to orbital operations. You'll be joining a rapidly growing program that presents diverse challenges, from creating new designs to solving complex orbital issues. The fast-paced environment demands quick thinking and innovative problem-solving skills, as you'll be tackling previously unsolved challenges in space technology.

Working at SpaceX means being part of a dynamic team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration. The compensation package is competitive, starting from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, with additional benefits including equity options, comprehensive healthcare, and retirement plans. For those with active clearance, there's an additional 10% differential.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical engineering, with experience in mixed-signal circuit boards, FPGAs, and various communication protocols. You'll need to be comfortable working autonomously while collaborating across multiple disciplines. This role is perfect for someone who combines technical expertise with a passion for advancing commercial space industry and human spaceflight.

The position requires rigorous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll be involved in every aspect of hardware development, from initial concept through to production and orbital operations. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking space technology while working with some of the industry's most talented engineers.
