Description For Build Engineer, Fluid Systems (Dragon)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Build Engineer for their Dragon Fluid Systems Manufacturing team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining critical systems for the Dragon spacecraft, including life support, thermal control, and propulsion systems. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with spacecraft hardware and contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.

The role involves hands-on work with propulsion sub-systems, developing new manufacturing processes, and ensuring quality control throughout production. You'll be responsible for resolving manufacturing discrepancies, supporting high-pressure testing, and implementing improvements to meet production demands. This position requires both technical expertise and practical manufacturing experience.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or physics, with at least one year of hands-on experience in mechanical systems. Additional preferences include experience with welding, machining, pressure testing, and understanding of fluid dynamics. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $95,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience level, plus comprehensive benefits including equity opportunities.

Working at SpaceX means being part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of space exploration. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while contributing to the company's ultimate goal of making humanity multi-planetary. The position requires dedication, with possible extended hours and weekend work, but offers the reward of directly impacting the future of space travel.
