The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least one year of relevant experience. Responsibilities For Build Engineer, Thermal Hardware (Starship)
- Work closely with vehicle analysts and design team to ensure solutions meet requirements
- Develop production procedures/processes and manage transition from development to high rate production
- Coordinate and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing
- Execute design for manufacturability changes
- Create original CAD models and prints for flight and tooling components
- Lead on-site design engineering contact for parts and assemblies build
- Create and maintain build schedules
- Resolve and analyze manufacturing discrepancies
- Participate in design reviews internally and with suppliers
- Partner with engineering & production teams for improvements
- Source, retain and advise vendors from technical perspective
Requirements For Build Engineer, Thermal Hardware (Starship)
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 1+ years of manufacturing or design experience
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
- Ability to work at elevated heights (10' to 185'+)
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments
- Physical capabilities for standing, kneeling, crouching, and working in cramped positions
