Description For Chemical Process Engineer - Starship Launch Systems

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for their Starship Launch Systems team. This role is crucial in supporting the world's largest and most powerful rocket program.

The position focuses on launch pad fluid systems design and implementation of cryogenic propellant processing systems across all Starship facilities. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in rocket propulsion, managing critical systems that directly impact launch operations.

As a Chemical Process Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and operating complex cryogenic systems, performing thermofluid analysis, and managing the fabrication and installation of fluid systems. You'll work on state-of-the-art technologies for cryogenic rocket propellants (oxygen and methane) production and help develop air separation and liquefaction processes.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering with 4+ years of hands-on fluid systems experience. Advanced degrees and expertise in cryogenic systems are highly valued. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for advancing commercial space industry.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation with base salary ranges from $95,000 to $130,000 depending on level, plus additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), and paid time off. This role requires up to 15% travel and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.

Join SpaceX in their mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species while working with some of the most advanced rocket technology in existence. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that's literally reaching for the stars.
