The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering with 4+ years of hands-on fluid systems experience. SpaceX offers competitive compensation with base salary ranges from $95,000 to $130,000 depending on level, plus additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), and paid time off. Responsibilities For Chemical Process Engineer - Starship Launch Systems
- Design build and operate systems that support critical rocket launches and testing
- Perform thermofluid analysis for gaseous and liquid fluid systems
- Manage fabrication and installation of fluid systems at launch and test sites
- Develop technologies for cryogenic rocket propellants production
- Design, build, and commission air separation and liquefaction equipment
- Perform balance of plant calculations for cryogenic systems
- Manage engineering projects from concept through activation
- Work with operational teams to ensure system design is well-understood
Requirements For Chemical Process Engineer - Starship Launch Systems
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with fluid systems
- Must be able to pass Air Force background check
- Willing to travel up to 15% to other launch sites
- Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Must meet ITAR requirements (US citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
- Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments
