SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join their Facility Engineering team in Cape Canaveral. This role is crucial in supporting SpaceX's mission of making humanity multi-planetary, specifically by designing and maintaining infrastructure for launch activities including Falcon and Starship programs.

Responsibilities For Civil/Structural Engineer (Facilities)

  • Perform civil and structural design and analysis calculations for structural steel and concrete
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors
  • Lead project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout engineering and construction process
  • Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports
  • Estimate material quantities, schedules, and costs for construction projects
  • Support and manage permitting process with AHJs and regulatory agencies
  • Provide direct onsite engineering inspections and field observations
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in real time
  • Manage and support civil and structural aspects for launch pads and facilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on HVAC, high power, cranes, and other facility systems
  • Support corrosion control evaluations and repairs

Requirements For Civil/Structural Engineer (Facilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of professional experience in civil or structural engineering
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check
  • Willing to work in extreme outdoor environments
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
