Description For DSP Engineer (Starshield)

SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with its ambitious mission to enable human life on Mars. As a DSP Engineer on the Starshield satellite team, you'll be at the forefront of national security efforts, working on technology that leverages SpaceX's Starlink capabilities for government use.

The role involves designing and building systems for proliferated sensing in low earth orbit, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. You'll be part of a dynamic team including RF engineers, DSP engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers, working to provide global connectivity to the US government and ensure immediate access to critical intelligence data.

Responsibilities For DSP Engineer (Starshield)

  • Drive program-level decisions on sensor firmware and software designs
  • Research novel solutions for large-scale RF sensing systems
  • Design and test algorithms for on-orbit and ground-based sensor data processing
  • Work in close collaboration with FPGA, RF/antenna, and software engineers
  • Perform on-orbit demonstrations and testing

Requirements For DSP Engineer (Starshield)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering and 1+ years of experience in digital signal processing engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in system-level modeling and/or digital signal processing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
