Description For Electrical Design Engineer II, Satellites (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer II for their revolutionary Starlink satellite program. This role sits at the cutting edge of space technology, working on the world's largest satellite constellation that currently provides high-speed internet to over 4.5 million users globally.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on advanced satellite technology, specifically focusing on the electrical systems that power Starlink's innovative connectivity solutions. You'll be working across two main areas: the Avionics team, responsible for the satellite's core control systems and revolutionary Space Lasers communication, and the Payload team, which develops industry-leading phased arrays and custom compute electronics.

As an Electrical Design Engineer II, you'll have comprehensive ownership over the entire hardware lifecycle, from initial system design through to production and orbital deployment. The role demands expertise in various areas including high-speed digital communications, analog systems, power electronics, and RF devices. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology while collaborating with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and thermal engineering specialists.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $115,000 to $150,000 annually, complemented by an attractive benefits package including equity opportunities, comprehensive healthcare, and retirement plans. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3+ years of experience in electronic product design who wants to be part of a mission to transform global internet connectivity and ultimately enable human life on Mars.

Working at SpaceX means joining a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in space technology. The role requires a strong technical background, innovative thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. While the position demands dedication and occasionally extended hours, it offers the unique satisfaction of contributing to technology that's literally changing the world - both on Earth and beyond.
