SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Starlink satellite program in Redmond. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge satellite technology, working across various specialized teams including Satellite Payload, Bus and Avionics, Gateways, Hardware Test and Factory Automation, Failure Analysis, On-Orbit Reliability, and Enterprise & Government solutions. This position combines electrical engineering expertise with space technology, offering hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex satellite systems.

The role demands strong technical skills in circuit design, electronic product development, and hardware testing, with opportunities to work on full lifecycle product development. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and thermal engineers, to create innovative solutions for space-based communications systems.

Responsibilities For Electrical Design Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

  • Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for satellite communication
  • Evaluate third party electrical and design integration solutions
  • Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing teams, and production test teams
  • Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout
  • Support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight
  • Work with engineers from adjacent disciplines
  • Drive continual improvements through data analysis
  • Challenge assumptions and find simple solutions to complex problems

Requirements For Electrical Design Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics
  • 1+ years of experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Strong understanding of computers and programming languages
