Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer, Instrumentation & Controls (Starship)

  • Design and build controls infrastructure for Starship Launch Vehicle ground support equipment
  • Maintain operational capability of control voltage level electrical systems
  • Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems across launch infrastructure
  • Create new automation systems for launch and test infrastructure
  • Provide technical support for controls technicians and other engineering groups
  • Develop new hardware and processes to improve capabilities and reduce costs
  • Analyze data to assess electrical systems function and health
  • Assist in design and analysis of test article experiments

Requirements For Electrical Engineer, Instrumentation & Controls (Starship)

  • Bachelor's degree in physics, electrical engineering or computer engineering
  • 6+ months experience with data acquisition systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-paced environment
  • Experience with industrial bus protocols
  • Knowledge of high-reliability processes
  • Experience with electrical power distribution
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Physical requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting up to 25lbs, working in cramped positions
