Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer, Launch Facilities

  • Design and specify electrical power distribution systems, switch-gear, and motor control centers
  • Design exterior and interior lighting systems
  • Implement ground support system controls and ladder logic
  • Manage UPS units, standby generators, and automatic transfer switches
  • Configure power monitoring hardware and software
  • Design data/phone distribution, wiring, and grounding systems
  • Implement fire alarm and lightning protection systems
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting electrical equipment
  • Perform load flow analysis of electrical systems
  • Coordinate with Vandenberg Space Force Base electrical utilities personnel
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations

Requirements For Electrical Engineer, Launch Facilities

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with power distribution systems
  • Ability to pass Space Force background checks
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work in high-stress environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with variable frequency drives and industrial pumps
  • Knowledge of MODBUS communication
  • Understanding of power and control schematics
