Description For Electrical Test Development Engineer, Customer Hardware (Starlink)

SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with its Starlink project, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. As a Starlink Electrical Test Development Engineer, you'll lead the development of test solutions for customer-facing devices including Starlink dishes, user terminals, and Wi-Fi routers. The role offers complete ownership over test solution development, ensuring reliability and performance of millions of devices shipped directly to users worldwide.

You'll work with cutting-edge technology that serves diverse customers - from teachers in remote Amazon regions to researchers in Antarctica, digital nomads, emergency responders, and commercial airlines. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including electrical, silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing departments.

The role combines hardware development, software automation, and strategic problem-solving. You'll design automated test solutions, work with commercial equipment, develop custom PCBAs, and write Python automation software. Regular interaction with senior leadership provides opportunities to influence product development from concept to full-scale production.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation with base salary ranging from $100,000 to $135,000 depending on level and experience. The benefits package includes stock options, bonuses, comprehensive healthcare, 401(k), paid parental leave, and 3 weeks vacation. Join a team that's making internet accessibility global while contributing to SpaceX's ultimate mission of enabling human life on Mars.

The ideal candidate will have strong electronics and programming foundations, experience with test equipment and measurement techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to ITAR requirements.
