Responsibilities For Facilities Engineer, MEP (Starship Infrastructure)

  • Lead MEP engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
  • Own mechanical engineering work packages for production site design and development
  • Create design drawings, calculations, and design summary presentations
  • Estimate material quantities, schedules, and costs for construction projects
  • Manage multi-discipline design and construction projects
  • Provide direct onsite field observations and resolve field conflicts
  • Maintain construction schedule and solve problems
  • Promote job site safety and ensure compliance with company safety policy
  • Coordinate with contractors and building officials
  • Communicate updates to budgetary, drawings, and design requirements

Requirements For Facilities Engineer, MEP (Starship Infrastructure)

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience with MEP building systems
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to travel to other SpaceX sites up to 25%
  • Must be eligible under ITAR requirements
  • Experience with HVAC operation and design principles
  • Knowledge of electrical and power distribution systems
  • AutoCAD/Revit – Beginner to intermediate skill level
  • Ability to work in high-stress environment with tight deadlines
