As a Hardware Engineer for PCBA Manufacturing (Starlink) at SpaceX, you'll play a crucial role in the production of the Starlink system. You'll manage PCBA processes and products for in-house production, drive volume production processes, manage new product introductions, and continuously optimize product output, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning and managing PCBA processes and products
  • Driving volume production processes
  • Managing new product introductions
  • Maintaining documentation and training
  • Tracking production metrics and identifying optimization opportunities
  • Driving corrective actions and process improvements

This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Preferred skills include high volume production experience, hands-on SMT processing experience, knowledge of statistical techniques, and familiarity with IPC manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities For Hardware Engineer, PCBA Manufacturing (Starlink)

  • Own and manage PCBA processes and PCBA products for in-house production
  • Drive processes for volume production of PCBA
  • Manage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies
  • Manage work instructions, process documentation, and training
  • Track schedule, work-in-progress levels, and defect rates of owned products
  • Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturability
  • Drive corrective actions and process improvements on owned processes and products

Requirements For Hardware Engineer, PCBA Manufacturing (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, software, industrial, electrical, or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing process, SMT, accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layout
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Willing to work weekend and extended hours as needed
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee due to ITAR requirements
