Description For Integration & Test Engineer (Falcon 9 Structures) - 2nd Shift

As an Integration and Test Engineer (Falcon 9 Structures) at SpaceX, you'll work on cutting-edge space technology, developing launch vehicles and spacecraft. You'll play a vital role between development and production teams, providing input on hardware design and leading manufacturing and integration efforts. Your responsibilities include overseeing the build and inspection of Falcon launch vehicle structures, developing manufacturing processes, collaborating with various teams to solve production challenges, and ensuring on-time vehicle delivery. This role offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars and advancing space exploration.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage build and inspection of Falcon launch vehicle structural assembly
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians on production challenges
  • Work on design manufacturability with engineers
  • Resolve product non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Plan and execute equipment and layout upgrades
  • Develop floor layouts and capacity models

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (Monday-Friday: 1pm-11pm)
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Comfortable with physical demands of the job
  • Must be based in Hawthorne, CA (no remote work)

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in relevant engineering field
  • Experience with large mechanical assembly integration
  • Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques
  • 3D CAD software experience
  • Design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) experience
  • Experience in aerospace production environments
