Responsibilities For Launch Engineer, Fluid Systems (Launch Pad)

  • Serve as the responsible engineer for launch pad fluid systems including compressible, incompressible, and cryogenic fluid systems
  • Utilize knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, controls, and instrumentation to troubleshoot issues
  • Work with and direct technician workforce for design, build, troubleshooting, maintenance activities
  • Contribute to development and improvement of functional automation
  • Identify and implement upgrades to launch pad hardware, software, and procedures
  • Serve as the lead engineer for the pad during design, construction, and activation
  • Present certification packages and engineering data to U.S. government agencies

Requirements For Launch Engineer, Fluid Systems (Launch Pad)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience with fluid, mechanical, or low voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg
  • Physical capability to lift 15-35 lbs
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work in high-stress environment with extended hours
  • Ability to be flexible on shifts
