Responsibilities For Launch Engineer, Fluid Systems (Launch Pad)
- Serve as the responsible engineer for launch pad fluid systems including compressible, incompressible, and cryogenic fluid systems
- Utilize knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, controls, and instrumentation to troubleshoot issues
- Work with and direct technician workforce for design, build, troubleshooting, maintenance activities
- Contribute to development and improvement of functional automation
- Identify and implement upgrades to launch pad hardware, software, and procedures
- Serve as the lead engineer for the pad during design, construction, and activation
- Present certification packages and engineering data to U.S. government agencies
Requirements For Launch Engineer, Fluid Systems (Launch Pad)
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
- 1+ years of professional experience with fluid, mechanical, or low voltage electrical systems
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg
- Physical capability to lift 15-35 lbs
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
- Ability to work in high-stress environment with extended hours
- Ability to be flexible on shifts
