Description For Launch Engineer, Ground Support Equipment (Falcon)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company with the ambitious goal of enabling human life on Mars, is seeking a Launch Engineer for Ground Support Equipment to join their Falcon Integration team in Cape Canaveral. This role represents a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the future of space exploration and commercial space flight.

The position combines hands-on engineering work with strategic system design, requiring expertise in both mechanical and fluid systems. As a Launch Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and activating critical equipment that supports all aspects of SpaceX's Falcon 9 vehicle processing, Dragon Capsule, and payload operations. This includes working with structural components, tooling/fixtures, fluids, and transport equipment.

The role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You'll be part of a team that handles everything from dockside operations to launch, focusing on vehicle interface tooling for structural and fluid connections. The position requires both technical expertise and practical skills, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on implementation.

Successful candidates will need a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least one year of hands-on hardware experience. The role demands proficiency in various technical tools, including CAD software, FEA packages, and programming languages like Python. Experience with complex fluid or mechanical systems is highly valued, as is familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $95,000 to $130,000 depending on experience level, with additional benefits including equity options, comprehensive healthcare, and retirement plans. This position offers the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of space technology development while working with some of the industry's most innovative minds.

Working at SpaceX means being part of a mission-driven team that's pushing the boundaries of space technology. The role requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. While challenging, the position offers the satisfaction of contributing to groundbreaking achievements in space exploration and the potential to make a lasting impact on humanity's future in space.
