SpaceX is seeking a Launch Engineer for their Dragon Integration team, focusing on human spaceflight operations and reusability. Responsibilities For Launch Engineer, Integration (Dragon)

  • Develop and execute procedures for the integration, test and operation of Crew/Cargo Dragon flight hardware
  • Develop and execute procedures for checkout and integration Dragon ground support equipment
  • Enable day-to-day execution of mission specific launch site and vehicle processing activities
  • Run vehicle system level checkouts and hazardous operations as a test conductor
  • Develop and refine inspection, repair/retrofit, assembly, system test requirements and procedures
  • Manage work orders and drive non-conformances into actionable items
  • Maintain large integrated planning documents
  • Design and develop tools for vehicle processing and testing
  • Collaborate with engineering staff and technicians
  • Work with government or commercial customers on human spaceflight preparations
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on project goals
  • Communicate vehicle status in readiness reviews and daily updates

Requirements For Launch Engineer, Integration (Dragon)

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with hardware development, vehicle integration or operations
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check
  • Physical capability to lift 15-35 lbs
  • Comfortable working with hazardous materials
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work 50-hour weeks with flexible schedule
  • Willing to work outdoors
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in high-stress environment
