Responsibilities For Lead Facilities Engineer

  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians focused on development, commissioning, and maintenance of SpaceX launch site facilities
  • Develop and train direct reports for extreme ownership and empowered decision making
  • Coordinate site development projects and partner with other groups
  • Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes
  • Manage external contractors and supplier selection
  • Provide technical engineering support for construction/maintenance compliance
  • Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications
  • Be proactive with team growth and department strategy

Requirements For Lead Facilities Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or construction management
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in facilities, construction, aerospace, or manufacturing
  • 1+ years of prior leadership experience
  • Strong desire to mentor and develop employees
  • Experience in facility maintenance and construction
  • Ability to read/understand/create blueprints
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift 30 lbs, operate forklifts and lifts
