SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Fluid Systems to join their mission of enabling human space exploration. This role is crucial in manufacturing high-volume fluid systems hardware for launch vehicles and spacecraft. The position combines hands-on manufacturing experience with engineering expertise, focusing on process improvement and quality control. You'll work directly with hardware, collaborate with design teams, and drive manufacturing excellence.
The role offers a competitive salary range of $95,000-$130,000 based on experience level, plus comprehensive benefits including equity opportunities. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll lead process improvements, implement quality control measures, and work closely with both development and production teams. You'll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer (Fluid Systems)
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations/implementation for quality issues
- Apply process improvement methodologies to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues
- Manage projects and execute to tight timelines
- Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices
- Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability
- Implement tooling and test solutions
- Plan and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades
- Facilitate production of rotary draw formed tubing, welded tube assemblies and high-pressure testing
Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer (Fluid Systems)
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of mechanical design and hands-on manufacturing experience
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques
- Experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning
- Working knowledge of Python or other coding language
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
