SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Fluid Systems to join their mission of enabling human space exploration. This role is crucial in manufacturing high-volume fluid systems hardware for launch vehicles and spacecraft. The position combines hands-on manufacturing experience with engineering expertise, focusing on process improvement and quality control. You'll work directly with hardware, collaborate with design teams, and drive manufacturing excellence.

The role offers a competitive salary range of $95,000-$130,000 based on experience level, plus comprehensive benefits including equity opportunities. You'll be part of SpaceX's ambitious goal of extending humanity's reach beyond Earth and Moon, working on vehicles that deliver satellites to orbit and transport humans to the International Space Station.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll lead process improvements, implement quality control measures, and work closely with both development and production teams. You'll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer (Fluid Systems)

  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations/implementation for quality issues
  • Apply process improvement methodologies to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues
  • Manage projects and execute to tight timelines
  • Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices
  • Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability
  • Implement tooling and test solutions
  • Plan and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades
  • Facilitate production of rotary draw formed tubing, welded tube assemblies and high-pressure testing

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer (Fluid Systems)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of mechanical design and hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning
  • Working knowledge of Python or other coding language
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
