Responsibilities For Materials Engineer, Materials Processing Laboratory

  • Own and operate Gleeble test system
  • Interface with internal customers to identify optimal testing strategies
  • Train staff on lab process and test equipment operation
  • Write basic software for data analysis using python, LabVIEW, or similar tools
  • Work with product engineers to understand materials requirements
  • Develop laboratory capabilities and analysis methods
  • Specify, design, install, commission and validate metal processing equipment
  • Lead process development of materials and processing techniques
  • Support lab operations
  • Design and build custom test systems

Requirements For Materials Engineer, Materials Processing Laboratory

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in commissioning equipment or metals processing
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs unassisted
  • Willing to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments
  • Ability to work with chemicals using proper PPE
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
