Responsibilities For Materials Engineer, Materials Processing Laboratory
- Own and operate Gleeble test system
- Interface with internal customers to identify optimal testing strategies
- Train staff on lab process and test equipment operation
- Write basic software for data analysis using python, LabVIEW, or similar tools
- Work with product engineers to understand materials requirements
- Develop laboratory capabilities and analysis methods
- Specify, design, install, commission and validate metal processing equipment
- Lead process development of materials and processing techniques
- Support lab operations
- Design and build custom test systems
Requirements For Materials Engineer, Materials Processing Laboratory
- Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience in commissioning equipment or metals processing
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs unassisted
- Willing to travel up to 5% of the time
- Ability to work in outdoor environments
- Ability to work with chemicals using proper PPE
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
