Description For Mechanical Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with its ambitious mission to enable human life on Mars. As part of this vision, they're deploying Starlink, the world's largest satellite constellation providing high-speed internet to over 5 million users globally. They're also developing groundbreaking Direct to Cell satellite technology for worldwide cellular connectivity.

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Starlink team, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite technology that's making a real difference in global connectivity. Based in their Redmond facility, you'll own complex hardware projects from initial concept through to high-volume production and orbital operation. This role offers significant responsibility and direct interaction with senior leadership during critical design phases.

The position combines mechanical engineering expertise with satellite technology, requiring skills in CAD/FEA software, mechanical design, and analysis. You'll be responsible for developing design criteria, driving system-level optimization, and ensuring efficient product lifecycles. The role offers exposure to various aspects of satellite engineering, from conceptual design to manufacturing and testing.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation including base salary, stock options, and comprehensive benefits. The company culture emphasizes ownership, innovation, and direct impact. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers passionate about space technology and global connectivity who want to work on revolutionary projects that are literally changing the world.

The role requires U.S. person status due to ITAR regulations and may involve long hours during critical project phases. You'll be part of a team that's not just building products, but shaping the future of global communications and space technology.
