Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer, Supply Chain (Falcon & Dragon)

  • Act as technical point of contact for assigned parts, solving emergent challenges at suppliers
  • Review issues and solve to root cause, implementing changes at supplier or SpaceX
  • Create and disposition issue tickets working with engineering counterparts
  • Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews
  • Own new product introduction (NPI) process at suppliers
  • Drive production part approval process (PPAP) program
  • Work with procurement to find and vet exceptional suppliers
  • Drive results and customer satisfaction through team collaboration

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer, Supply Chain (Falcon & Dragon)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing/inspection of mechanical products
  • Must be able to travel up to 60-85% work week
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver's license mandatory
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Experience with machining operations preferred
  • Knowledge of supplier quality processes preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, SQL, and PowerBI
