Description For Mechanical Integration & Test Engineer (Starshield)

SpaceX, a pioneering space exploration company, is seeking a Mechanical Integration & Test Engineer for their Starshield program. This role is crucial in ensuring satellite mission success through comprehensive system understanding and hands-on engineering work.

The position requires an engineer who can masterfully navigate between design, schematics, operations, manufacturing, testing, and flight aspects of satellite systems. You'll be working in a dynamic environment where engineering intuition and critical thinking are essential, often tackling challenges with minimal oversight and ambiguous requirements.

As an Integration and Test Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of SpaceX's mission to make space exploration a reality. The role involves managing integration build flows, evaluating designs for manufacturability, and working closely with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing processes. You'll be responsible for developing and refining assembly procedures and ensuring smooth execution of vehicle integration and test flows.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $95,000 to $130,000 based on experience level, with additional benefits including stock options, comprehensive healthcare, and 401(k). For those with active clearance, there's a 10% differential bonus of up to $15,000 annually.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who are passionate about space technology and want to contribute to SpaceX's ambitious goal of enabling human life on Mars. The role requires some travel, flexibility with working hours, and physical capabilities for hands-on work. You'll be part of a team that's directly contributing to the future of space exploration while working with cutting-edge technology and solving complex engineering challenges.
