Description For Mission Integration Engineer (Starshield)

SpaceX, founded with the vision of exploring the stars, is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer for their Starshield program. Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology for government use, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. As a core member of the Mission Management team, you'll be the primary contact for customers throughout the mission lifecycle. You'll support new business proposals, work on mission design, prototype development, and testing. Collaboration with various SpaceX disciplines is key to ensure safe and successful missions. Responsibilities include customer interface, contract deliverable management, prototype development, and supporting all program phases. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering, 2+ years of aerospace industry experience, technical project management skills, and experience with launch vehicles or spacecraft. Additional preferences include working well under pressure, strong communication skills, and a positive, innovative attitude. This role may require a security clearance and involves up to 25% travel. Responsibilities For Mission Integration Engineer (Starshield)

  • Serve as the customer interface at meetings, tests, and reviews
  • Ensure contract deliverables are completed on-time and per customer expectations
  • Work with stakeholders to drive prototype development
  • Support all phases of the program from development through successful test, flight, and on-orbit commissioning
  • Educate customers on SpaceX designs and methodologies

Requirements For Mission Integration Engineer (Starshield)

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience working in the aerospace or space industry
  • 2+ years of technical project management and/or systems engineering experience
  • Experience working with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems
  • Must be willing to pursue a security clearance if not already cleared
  • Must pass DoD level background checks
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (due to ITAR requirements)
