Responsibilities For Network Security Engineer
- Develop and implement network security tools
- Produce threat models and assess risk around existing configurations
- Provide subject matter expertise on network security, firewalls and industry best practices
- Manage firewall configurations within the SpaceX enterprise network
- Analyze and proactively come up with creative network solutions for security challenges
- Document and formalize security processes
- Manage and maintain network security systems
- Work with other teams to determine needs and develop secure architectures
Requirements For Network Security Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of network security experience; OR 5+ years of experience
- 1+ years of experience securing networks, IT infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and/or APIs
- 1+ years of experience hardening Windows, MacOS, and/or Linux operating systems
- Strong understanding of network security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, etc.)
- Python programming and automation ability
- Experience with production environment implementations
- Strong self-starting and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
