SpaceX is seeking an Operations Engineer for Launch operations at their Vandenberg, CA location. This role involves supporting the development of tools and techniques for range and launch operations, leading interdepartmental coordination, validating range requirements, and implementing safety policies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 2+ years of experience in aerospace systems or operations engineering, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities For Operations Engineer, Launch
- Support development of tool and techniques for range and launch operations to reduce processing time, costs and opportunities for error
- Lead interdepartmental coordination with external entities to ensure all regulatory requirements are met
- Validate and verify range requirements for launching from a federal range
- Provide program management on contract agreements with government agencies and commercial contractors
- Implement safety policies for flight hardware processing flows
- Find solutions to enable SpaceX launches through spectrum, airspace, GPS coordination
- Advise on best practices and strategy to eliminate conflicts with partners
- Own and have responsibility over all aspects of SpaceX launches that requires coordination with external partners
Requirements For Operations Engineer, Launch
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience with aerospace systems or operations engineering
- Ability to work at elevated heights and/or tight spaces
- Must be willing to travel, potentially for extended periods of time
- Must be available to work extended hours, nights and weekends when required
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg AND Cape Canaveral
