Responsibilities For Operations Engineer, Range Safety (Starship)

  • Support development of tool and techniques for range and launch operations
  • Lead interdepartmental coordination with external entities for regulatory requirements
  • Validate and verify range requirements for launching from a federal range
  • Provide program management on contract agreements with government agencies
  • Implement safety policies for flight hardware processing flows
  • Find solutions for launch enablement through spectrum, airspace, GPS coordination
  • Advise on best practices and strategy to eliminate conflicts with partners
  • Own all aspects of SpaceX launches requiring external partner coordination

Requirements For Operations Engineer, Range Safety (Starship)

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of professional experience with aerospace systems or operations engineering
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and tight spaces
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods
  • Must be available to work extended hours, nights and weekends
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (US citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
