Description For Operations Engineer (Starlink Production)

SpaceX is seeking an Operations Engineer for Starlink Production to support their mission of enabling human life on Mars. The role involves developing and implementing system tools to drive efficiency and improvement across all aspects of the Starlink manufacturing production lifecycle. Key responsibilities include developing and improving production metrics, analyzing data to identify optimization opportunities, implementing continuous improvement projects, and supporting ERP enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of data analytics and manufacturing operations, with the ability to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve key process indicators and production metrics
  • Analyze data to identify efficiency opportunities
  • Implement production optimization projects
  • Support ERP enhancements
  • Create reports and maintain reporting rhythms
  • Drive innovation and technical excellence

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or operations/supply chain management
  • Experience with SQL and business intelligence tools
  • Preferred: Degree in industrial engineering or operations management
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality concepts
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work extended hours when required
  • ITAR requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Responsibilities For Operations Engineer (Starlink Production)

  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve key process indicators and other production metrics
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate trends to broader production, supply chain, and engineering teams
  • Review and analyze gathered data to identify opportunities for efficiency gains
  • Plan and implement production optimization/continuous improvement projects
  • Work with broader EIS team to support production-facing ERP enhancements
  • Create reports and maintain regular reporting rhythms with supply chain reliability and leadership teams
  • Drive for results and customer satisfaction by collaborating with teams, leading projects, and continuously driving improvements in production

Requirements For Operations Engineer (Starlink Production)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or operations/supply chain management
  • Professional experience with SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Grafana)
  • Ability to analyze data and check for accuracy/errors in dataset based on process and system knowledge
  • Understanding of business concepts relating to manufacturing and quality
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as a team in a highly demanding and fast paced environment
  • Willing to work extended hours, some nights and weekends when required
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
